Thanks for asking. This is a rarely asked question, but one that really should be getting asked more!
I have had great experiences of flexible working overall at a few companies now.
During Covid and after, I was working fully remote for an Australian FinTech Company (that would have been quite the commute!). We had base office locations in Glasgow, Edinburgh, London and Dublin, that we could utilise as we chose to, or for pre-arranged meet-ups post Covid.
The same is true of Standard life.
A lot of our teams, departments and functions have fixed or floating team days, where we are in our offices one or two days a week, or on an as-required basis.
I have some colleagues that choose to go into the office every day, as that is what they prefer.
I have some colleagues that work a compressed working week, working 1-2 hours longer each day, over the course of a 4 day working week. We also have some colleagues that work part time in a job-share arrangement.
Standard Life aims to make working as flexible is possible for us, and we are actively encouraged to do so.
We have a lot of options available to us, that are all on the table and discussion around how we can make them work.
From what I have seen and experienced within Standard life in the last 2 years; Standard Life is by far one of the most flexible organisations I have ever worked for. SL is truly committed to maintaining a work life balance, but equally supporting flexible ways of working to make sure that work and our ways of working ‘work’ for both our colleagues and the business as a whole.
I hope this is useful.
